MonoMonday: High Contrast
Son#2 and his partner took a train back home to Bath today, so as we needed to pop into town we went with them to the station before doing our shopping. This gave me the opportunity to take my blip, to which as you can see I've given a high contrast effect for JohnEdward's MM challenge.
There's also a "high contrast" between the old and the new(er) buildings around this square in the centre of Newcastle, named after Lord Eldon (who had a colourful life - including eloping with Bessie Surtees!) It used to have old buildings on all sides, like those on the right of the photo, but as was the fashion in the 1960s much of it was demolished to make way for a new shopping mall (also called Eldon Square), part of which is seen at the back of the square in this photo.
