Paul Taylor!!!
I have been waiting with great anticipation for the artist in residence, Paul Taylor, to get to our school. He is a friend of mine and lives 10 months of the year in Laramie. The other months he heads back to his Australian homeland. He has been adopted by an Aboriginal elder named Bill Harney. He does song, storytelling, dance and arts with the kids. The main blip is from the morning assembly where he told some stories, taught some songs and showed the kids the bull roarers and didgeridoo. It was great to see him in action. He worked with the upper elementary kids on making their didgeridoos out of PVC pipe. They will be painting them. The lower elementary worked on paper boomerangs which were really cool. The older kids will also be painting 6 small murals. I will blip those when they are finished. Paul will be with us through Wednesday. There will be a final show Wednesday afternoon with all the songs and dances. I tried to get a link to his site but it wouldn't work.
