Hiding in the Bushes
We stayed at the Bath Arms at Horningsham last night as we had a special day booked for today. Marian and I had decided to give this to each other for our Christmas and birthday presents. This morning we drove the short distance to Longleat for a Gold VIP tour of the safari park.
What does that mean? It means that we got driven around the park and dropped off at different places to get close up views of the animals and information and insights from the keepers that know them so well. It was a magnificent day.
My main blip is of one of the African painted dogs that are a recent addition to the park. When we arrived there I recognised Ian Turner, one of the keepers and a very accomplished photographer, and spoke to him. He told us that Hamza Yassin was there too. We had expected to see him because we'd seen him at the hotel. He was filming the painted dogs but he was very approachable and happy to chat.
We're back home now and I've been through the 300 odd photos briefly and added a couple of extras of a koala and the grey wolves. A great day but full on and bit exhausting!
