Continuing the theme of recent months in East Africa, torrential rains battered Amboseli during the night and morning. The national park’s roads turned into waterways and vehicles could not pass. When it subsided we were hours behind schedule to reach Nairobi and most of the roads were still underwater. It didn’t deter these girls at the park entrance who were filming some promotional material in traditional garb.

We navigated an arduous bus journey, Nairobi rush hour traffic and a leaking airport building before finally getting back to Dar es Salaam at about 1am.
