Ribwort Plantain

A dry and breezy day allows a brief walk in the reserve. There’s lots of birdsong, but I get no decent shots of birds, and butterflies are nowhere to be seen. I spot some ribwort plantain growing in the meadows, heads held high above the grass. I love them when their rings of tiny flowers are in bloom, bouncing on impossibly thin stems, but these are either yet to bloom or - more likely - past their prime. Still, I love the way  they stand tall and strong against the mist of green.

Back home, I have an unexpected call from my lead consultant in Liverpool. The team have been discussing my case and there’s one final antibiotic attack they want to try. I’ll carry on with this regime until mid June at which point it’s back to looking at some sort of immunosuppressive drugs. At least I know is they’ve not given up just yet!
