Happy May Day

It was 50 years ago today that I learned about the custom of giving a bouquet to your sweetheart on the first of May.
Hubby and I had just met on a blind date in February 1974 and continued to see each other when his busy medical school schedule permitted (which wasn’t much). So I was quite surprised to receive a lovely bouquet from him and asked what the special occasion was. Now I know!
