Bloomin' Lovely!
Thought I'd let you see how the pink peony that I first blipped a few days ago was coming along. It's been joined by lots of others and is looking really pretty, but has had to have extra support as the flower heads are so large:-)
The gas pipe saga continues with the team returning tomorrow to (hopefully) do the final link up with the gas mains for the whole street. All their promises came to nothing today, when it proved impossible to feed the new pipe through the old one to connect to our existing indoor meter. Instead, they have had to fit a new meter box on an outside wall and very ugly it is too (see picture here). We now have a copper pipe running up the wall, which will have to be painted (by us) to help it blend in a bit better.
The hole in the garden was filled in, as promised, but they were just going to throw the gravel back on top of the now cut and torn membrane which we had put in specially to keep the weeds out, but let the water through. My husband stopped them in time and will now do the job (properly) himself.
There are also a few bits and pieces to do indoors where they removed the old meter, but all in all, it could have been worse! Of course, we don't know yet if there will be problems tomorrow when they connect everyone up to the new gas main, but we'll all be keeping our fingers crossed!
