May Day walk
As I drove to Calgary for our morning walk there was the most fantastic clear pearly light to the north. I could see the hills of the outer isles standing high above the horizon and north Skye and the islands of Canna, Rum and Eigg had an amazing clarity that I have never seen before. Unfortunately, when I arrived at Calgary and looked westward it was a different picture, although the light was still quite special between the showers. After a walk to the old pier and back, Bertie and I had the beach to ourselves for a while and one of us had a great time doing zoomies.
Back home much of the rest of the day was taken up with phone calls, paperwork and recording my allocated articles from the new edition of Round and About. I always get given the one on Gaelic place names which can be a bit of a trial sometimes, having to check the correct pronunciation of numerous Gaelic words and sometimes Norwegian words as well, but this month’s was comparatively straight forward, phew!
