Kinetic Sculpture

This sculpture, Reasons For Voyaging, by Graham Bennett is outside the Christchurch NZ art gallery. The arms move when the moon is full.

I met my daughter at the gallery and we went to the Rita Angus exhibition. This was a real treat. More than 140 artworks have been gathered together from many different collections. See here.. I especially enjoyed seeing the originals of familiar and favourite paintings. Angus had a distinctive style that has wide appeal.

A few years ago my daughter and I went to Cass, the subject of Angus's best known and most popular painting. Not a lot had changed. The little railway station was still there, and is probably there today.

It was great seeing this exhibition with my daughter.
