Green Belt

This is part of the "green belt" around London, the jealously guarded ring around outer London where development is very strictly controlled to prevent London expanding further and merging with surrounding towns. It may not be the most beautiful landscape in the world, or in Britain, but it is a pleasant relief from urban sprawl and offers some very attractive areas where you can pretend you are not near a major motorway, and where the sounds of birds can be heard over the distant roar of traffic.

This is near Enfield, on the north side of London.
