Loftus Town Hall
I knew as soon as we drove along the high street I wanted this for my blip today. A fine gothic grade 2 listed building built in 1879. During the first and second WW some of the rooms were confiscated for the war effort. It only has 3 clock faces, as those residents to the south were reluctant to contribute to the cost at the time!!
Anyway, I shall hopefully get inside sometime and have a look around as it has some items of local interest on display. The town council themselves moved out more than 20 years ago, but functions are still held there and are available to hire.
We were just having a drive out today and ended up that way, actually just tripping over into the actual North York Moors park area, according to the sign we passed anyway.
Found a nearby retail park which is within striking distance which may well be handy at some point. We didn’t need anything today, so just stopped for a cuppa in one of the fast food places there. I may also have had an ice cream :-)
