Hatchlings

There are now five hatchlings in my camera box, two hatched yesterday evening and three this morning. That leaves one egg still. It was fascinating watching the hatching and the mum eating some shell and taking the rest out of the box. The male has been quite attentive, bringing tiny grubs for the hatchlings - they pretty much open their beak wide straight away, with a little prompting from mum initially. I'm sure they've already grown and have started making a noise when the food arrives. Mum doesn't look too pleased when she arrives with food and her mate is in the box having bought food too and fed them!

The other photos are from my walk in Sheringham park with H this morning. I'm not sure of the flowers, but PlantNet says Broom. The second is a handkerchief tree (thanks for the location info Claire). The other photo is of a steam engine reversing towards Sheringham and passing the windmill - it's such a pretty line. This afternoon I cleaned all the fascias and soffits, windows, door and two garage doors at the front of the bungalow.
