The Library
Today was Correr Museum day. It is the Museum for the history and art of Venice. My favourite display was the library room because it also contained an old globe of the world, and a wonderful chandelier.
Extras are mostly in the Correr. In one room there was a weird modern art display which included a huge pile of coal in the middle of the floor. Another view shows the wonderful ball room.
Next it is a miniature of Napoleon. He had control of this place around about 1800 and had grand plans to turn it into his palace. But 1815 put an end to all of that, thanks to Wellington.
It was now time to visit the Museum Cafe and the view of St Mark's Square was taken from our window seat in the cafe. Finally a street view in the same theme, being the famous Caffe Florian, the oldest cafe in Venice. It opened in December 1770.
