Wade's Military Road

Last night we were very low. Everything was soaking, clothes, shoes, streets, paths, restaurants and our disposition.
This morning, after a decent sleep, hearty breakfast and a drier forecast, we decided to continue north. I wanted to follow General Wade's military road to Inverness which looked like an interesting route on the map.

Sadly, some sections of the route are now used by the A9 trunk road, but for those kilometres that weren't, we managed to follow it all the way to the Highland capital. And it didn't rain.

The picture shows the Sluggan Bridge built over the River Dulnain in 1730. The sister of Carrbridge further downstream.
