ONE GOOD TERN DESERVES ANOTHER

The Little Terns are arriving back at the same bit of beach they used for breeding last year, and which local wardens and volunteers have fenced off and set up patrols to protect the birds from dogs, predators and idiots. I asked how many pairs there were because the terns seemed to be everywhere and was told they've only just started returning and have yet to pair up (though these two don't seem to be wasting any time) so it could end up being a bumper year for them, all being well. This isn't the most obvious bit of beach for them to choose - on the edge of a seaside resort and with a little funfair right beside them (extra), but they must like it.
