War Memorial Walk
It was a misty morning over the sea so the Berry Head foghorn was activated this morning, for quite a while..
We went on a war memorial walk today in Bovey Tracey led by a very knowledgeable guide. He took us to ten memorials, in or outside three churches, some individual ones, and most related to the whole village, such as this one outside the old town hall building. Also in St John’s churchyard there is a memorial to three sisters who drowned in the river Nile in 1875 - full story here.

Later we went to Emsworthy Mire and had spectacular success looking for cuckoos - ten sightings and constant calls. Also wheatear and redstarts particularly near this old red roofed barn. (Extra) Great day.
