Gently down the stream

Adolescence

And early walk in the reserve gave me a couple of adolescents.  It was very warm.  The year is certainly marching on.  Down by the pond I found this young robin sitting on a post waiting for his parents to bring him breakfast.  Scruffy feathers still, but I thought him pretty cute.  Just before I got this far I saw a female mallard who had made a kind of temporary nest by flattening new reeds in the middle of some flooding.  Beside her, about one and a half metres away was her only young one, who had done the exactly same thing (see Extras).

The rest of the day has been spent with friends.  And the sun is still shining ;)))
