New job

Part time and voluntary, I started a new job today. I had a few days probation over the last month, and it was confirmed to me today.

In a nutshell, the job is assistant art teacher to 19 young adults with intellectual disability. Mostly persons with Down Syndrome. A bunch of enthusiastic, outspoken, opinionated, unfiltered folk who love to chat and do their art. The Art Teacher is a very cool woman. I want to be like her when I grow up. Today we painted our favourite flower and we talked about

and I remembered nearly all their names. It’s like the best thing really.

I didn’t get home til 3 and rustled up spaghetti, anchovies, cucumber, tomatoes, scallions and the dressing is the oil from the anchovy tin and some squeezed lime juice.

And I’m going to watch second instalment of quirky documentary called McMillions tonight.
