Lake Rotoiti

Nice sleep last night.........not a sound!  So quiet and peaceful.  Popped my head out into the darkeness before heading to bed to see if the skies were clear enough for any astro shots.......not a chance with thick, heavy cloud covering the sky.  A few splashes of rain on the roof woke me at a reasonable time then it was down to the Lake front for breakfast........no need to stay in the campsite when there's a beautiful view to be had.  Whiled away some time before heading home.  I chose a 'new' backroad just to see what it was like - so beautiful and peaceful.  Might use it again on other trips to/from the lake.

Arrived home where job #1.....unpack van.....was set about.  Job #2 - make some dinner.....followed.  All done in plenty of time to be able to sit down to relax at my usual time.  Minnie was pleased to see me and showed me just a little affection, intermingled with quite a bit of 'so....are you going to feed me now' behaviour.  Hmmmm.....welcome home!

Speaking of welcomes.....niece K flies out to Australia tomorrow to start work near Melbourne.  Whilst her mum has understandably mixed emotions I know K is excited to be heading away on an adventure.  Hoping the adventure will include NZ at some point too.
