Shame About the Shade

Smashing lamp from John Lewis. I have 2, 1 each side of my bed. However the shade on this one is very scratched on the inside. I am exchanging it tomorrow but bizarrely have to exchange the whole thing. Which is a little bit of a struggle. Its unfortunate, but because the inside of the shade is shiny gold, the scratches show up - a lot (but perhaps I am being picky, i hear you say?)
