Quintessentially British: The Local Shop
Napoleon famously said, 'L'Angleterre est une nation de boutiquiers' - which means, 'England is a nation of shopkeepers'. Which isn't quite true any more - indeed many of our High Streets are struggling and more and more shops are closing. But it is still true that the life of many of our village communities relies on the village still being able to maintain a Village Shop. This bow-fronted shop sits facing the village green in Berkswell and many of the elderly residents rely on it in order to do their shopping. You will notice it also incorporates another British obsession - the Tea Room!
