Quintessentially British: Messing About in Boats
Today is gloriously warm and sunny and the perfect time to be out and about enjoying all that the canals and rivers have to offer. The British seem to love messing about in boats of all kinds - perhaps it is because we are an island race. These two narrow boats are just entering the Stockton locks on the Grand Union Canal. These locks are unusual on the canal system in that they can accommodate two boats side by side. This means that there are plenty of volunteers available to help them through the locks.
