Life through the lens...

Tregonning Hill.

What a beautiful day.
After breakfast we did one of our favourite walks up Tregonning Hill.
What fabulous views especially as it was so clear today.
Here you can see the view from the tall granite cross, the memorial to those brave men of Germoe who died in the First and Second World Wars, and also a Bristol Beaufort Bomber bomber crashed into the hill in 1941, killing all four on board.
You can see Mounts Bay and out towards Lands end and then turn round and you can see the North coast and St Ives.
This Hill is where China Clay was discovered.

It was then to Hayle for pasties from Philps which we ate over looking over the estuary.
Afterwards a walk along George The V Memorial way to Hayle Towans.
Oh WOW. The view over to St Ives was just breathtaking. The blue sky, and sea and beautiful white/golden sand.
See collage on as an extra.
A lovely Three masted ship in the bay.

It was then a last look at Perranuthnoe and a walk along the coast path.
(See photo on collage)

Our surprise today was seeing a Spoonbill feeding in the Hayle estuary at Copper House creek.
Looking at my photos I see it has a tag on it’s leg.

What a wonderful end to our Cornish holiday.
On to Devon tomorrow.
