Buzzard Watch - Breakfast

This morning, the buzzard left the nest as I approached. I sat down and waited. About 15 minutes later he/she (not sure which) reappeared with what looked like a rat (or large mouse). Extra is a close up of the food - you will be able to offer your ideas as well. I think the chicks have hatched, but a short while later, I saw what looked like another adult move in the nest, after the ‘feeder’ had gone again.  Not sure if the adults feed themselves while they are on the nest.  I will only really know when I see both adults active in and out to feed the chicks - however many there are.
