Sunset Sowthistle Seedhead
This chest infection has laid me low and I've lost my mojo. :(
I staked out the bird box earlier, as I could do that seated but the great tits had me sussed.
I went for a gentle walk as the sun was setting and snapped this sowthistle seedhead. I think all plants with a 'clock' are photogenic. I love artichokes when they are going to seed, dandelions beg to photographed and one of my favourites is goat's-beard with its well-defined orbs of pappuses. One of the softest and most downy is sowthistle. This is growing under glass so is pristine, they easily become bedraggled outside.
