Life’s good

yesterday was a long day. We left home around noon and, after a lot of traffic jams, arrived at our hotel around half past four. had dinner and then went to the sports hall were the tournament is organised. The round started quite a bit later to give everyone the chance to get to the chess board on time despite all the traffic and very bad weather (roads closed due to flooding). E played a draw in a game that lasted until 00:15. then quickly back to the hotel (through the rain, really heavy rain). set the alarm and went to sleep. This morning at 10:00 the next round started. Erwin blundered a piece and lost (after 4 hours and 45 minutes of playing, chess is a hard game!)
then quickly eat something, because the next party would start again within 40 minutes. Erwin won this third game, and after four hours of playing we could go back to the hotel. the agreements with the hotel and tournament organization are very good. You can use the special chess menu in the hotel and in the sports hall for a nice price. summary of the day: to the hall with daylight, back in the dark, and in between with 600 chess players in a sports hall. E is having a big party, and the atmosphere is great. It is also definitely fun for me, because you meet so many acquaintances here again and can catch up again. but it is intensive!
