Queues?..

We ate the first cucumber yesterday. G and I were in the tunnel, and I cut the first one off the plant, topped and tailed, and cut in half, and eaten there and then. Sweet and juicy, almost like a melon.. There are plenty more coming on 15 plants. The plants are trained up strings, and are four or five feet tall now. When they get to the top of the strings, I'll train them along horizontal strings running the length of the tunnel. I'm doing this with runner beans too, some of which are now six feet tall and two or three feet along. Should make it easy to pick hanging beans and cucumbers..

Windy today, becoming calmer and wet. Cooling down as well..
