View from Högsjö Church
We were here to say goodbye to Jonas. We knew him as a friend we first met many years ago. We also knew him as a ceramicist, and have several pieces of his pottery. And again we shared an interest in politics, from the same point of view. Both Jan and I have worked with Karin, his partner, who was a librarian, and is still one of our favourite people.
The picture is taken just a meter or two from the church door and the church hall is the white building you see. We all walked over there after the funeral to drink coffee, eat cake and chat to all the old friends and acquaintances one meets at funerals.
It seemed a good place to say goodbye to Jonas Lundkvist as he loved living in the countryside and got a lot of pleasure from their chickens, cats and the birds that flocked to the garden. (He dropped dead on his way to feed the birds!)
Later in the day we had a lovely meal with Roger and Livia who came to check out our new views and see how the garden was going.
Something of a day of mixed feelings!
