Last day of Bookarama
We were on the ball this morning - up, breakfasted and down at the market just before 9:30. It was a cold, wet, miserable morning so we didn’t dally, just grabbed the few things we needed and then back to the car. We drove to Bookarama and walked through the door at 9:45. It was open from 10am until 1pm and was busy the entire time, especially as everything was half price. Young rowers from the Oamaru Rowing Club, along with their parents, turned up just before 1pm and, as soon as the door closed, they sprang into action. Together with the Rotary volunteers they packed books into boxes and carried them out to a waiting truck, trestle tables were collapsed and in no time at all the area was cleared and all that was left to do was vacuum the floor. Amazing! The rowing club will receive a donation for their help. We’ll find out on Wednesday night how much was money was taken.
We arrived home at 2pm, had a light lunch and tidied up, then I lay on the sofa with a book and a rug and eventually dropped off to sleep. I was exhausted. Thankfully, we had leftovers for supper, which was easy, and I felt less tired after my snooze.
I still haven’t been on blip so am way behind with comments.
The blip is MrM’s cushion design for the dining chairs.
