1905

Leafing through a box of old family things that are new to me this evening, before they head off to my grandmother's house tomorrow.

This is a fragment of a photo of my great-grandfather, as a child of 6 in 1905. His mother is on the left, and a Mrs Shannon is on the right.

Found a few very ancient letters in the box, although I haven't quite worked out who the people referred to are. They must be in my family but the names aren't familiar to me, even though I've done some family tree hunting in the past. The oldest is dated 1814!

It all meant we had a trip out to Fife, with lunch at Falkland. A good day out!
