Broderie Anglaise
So, this is how to Do Clothes Shopping: you leave home in cold rain and the disbelief that the weather will ever turn summery, taking one pair of warm jeans, a warm tee-shirt and a jumper, with the aim of travelling light as it's only for a couple of days.
You arrive in Somerset to summer sunshine and increasingly warm temperatures.
You glow sufficiently to feel a change of tee-shirt, at the very least, might be a good idea.
You decide that, as there's nothing particularly urgent to travel home to, you'll stop a little longer.
You wait till Wimbledon is underway and the sky is deep blue, so that the shopping mall is deserted.
You head to Cribbs Causeway and don't have to queue in M&S or Next as you try on a summer skirt and tops.
You head back to chez relatives with new clothes and the smug feeling of having picked The Best Time to Shop.
Now sipping a Guinness before preparing to eat. And here's a close up of my skirt's fabric: denim blue and white borderie anglaise: very comfy, cool and, of course, summery: yay!
