River of Flowers

Monday: Slugs for Lunch

We pottered around the garden this morning. MrD cut the grass, then he cleared the grass which was growing along the path near the wood store. I cleaned out some plastic pots, slugs have been overwintering in them and I needed to pot on Tomatoes “Tumbling Tom”, a couple of plants are in flower already.

Between us both, MrD and I had provided slugs and earthworms for the blackbirds, both the male and female had beaks full of treats to carry back to their nest.

Onion sets “Stuttgarter” which I’d started off in small pots have made good growth and have been planted next to the rhubarb at the side of the greenhouse, they’ve been mulched with grass mowings too.
