An English country garden
Open occasionally to the public for charity, today being one of those days. An undistinguished house surrounded by tens (possibly even hundreds) of acres of lovely woodland and garden. Run by an eccentric landed couple. Inherited wealth. Backs on to a golf course that only has 350 members and a joining fee of £200,000. The great British secret is how those who have wealth keep their money locked in for generations. Trickle down is a nonsense idea. Nice though some of these landed people are, we need to flush out their cash and redistribute it.
Another lovely day. We had lunch in a garden centre in Sunningdale. Tea in the sunshine at home followed by some al fresco hair dyeing.
In the evening I finally finished reading the excellent "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" by Gabrielle Zevin. An interesting story of how we each construct our own version of reality which may or may not coincide with other peoples.
Good day.
