Reflections

Well, here we are- Dollar Summer School, now in its 54th year and I have signed up for a week in Claire Harkness'class.

Claire is a well-known water-colourist specialising in animals. She has been on expeditions to the Antarctic, Galagapos Islands, India, Africa and many other exotic locations to source material for her work.
Next she is off to China to paint pandas.

I think I am in for a very interesting week...

Wilma, a regular at Dollar Summer School, is in my class and she had such a colourful outfit on that I asked her to pose beside a sculpture in the school grounds. (Yes it's that kind of school).

But then this is Dollar Academy, one of the top day and boarding schools in Scotland and we have access this week to the £3million pound multi purpose arts centre - thanks to the generous donation of a former pupil.

Lest you think all this costs an arm and length let me assure you it's just over a modest £30 a day for excellent tuition in first class faculties- yet few folk know about this hidden gem.
