Barrie Hipkiss

It was the funeral of the Chester club president Barrie Hipkiss today. Barrie did a huge amount of voluntary work down at the ground and will be missed by everyone. Amongst many other things he ran the away travel for 40 years (the bus was known as the Hipkiss Express) and, along with his wife Pam, provided board and lodgings for players in the 1980s and 1990s. 

There was a big turnout at the church and afterwards many people went down to the football club. The family thought it would be nice to have some photos taken in front of the stand which was named in his honour a couple of years ago.
