Liphook and Ripsley CC
Well - Saturday is cricket for me for this season.
When I left my job a couple of years ago (after 26 years), I realised when I put my CV together that there was a lot of things that I had put off doing for one reason or another - generally under the heading of being too busy. So I made myself a commitment that I would say yes to everything! And so, I said yes to playing cricket - and will play every week for this season.
On the down side, I have many bruises (two very painful ones on my shin today where I was hit by speeding bullets). Good stops though!); it's not great being away from my family for the whole of a Saturday, and today I was out for a duck :-(
On the plus side though, it forces a middle aged couch potato to get outside and do something different!
We shall see - but today was my 7th game, and the first game that we lost. We lost badly, but it was still good fun, and my fielding has noticeably improved over the last few weeks. Unlike my batting which started off quite well with 35 not out (not sure if I mentioned that before or not?), followed by 13, 8 not out and now 0. My average is now down to 28 :-(
This is Dain. He was our second highest scorer today with 15
Change of scene tomorrow - and out on the golf course :-)
