Field Day
It was a little chilly to start off with but as you can see it was a good day to be outside. This park is only a couple of blocks from the school so we all walked over. There were a bunch of different stations that the kids roatated through. The biggest hit was the sand volleyball court. A few kids played volleyball but most of them just played in the sand. There were other more structured activities too. It went mostly fine but it's always tough on a few kids when there are lots of transitions and the schedule is wonky but no total meltdowns, thankfully.
We were done by 11:45 so on to our long Memorial weekend. I'm heading out shortly to meet a friend for drinks :-)
The music last night was really nice. I put an extra of my friends Kevin and Birgit playing. It was an invite only recital for people who have studios in the Civic Center. Kevin teaches guitar there and so was invited to play. The first string band I was part of was with these two. They played a lot of the tunes that we did so long ago but with new arrangements. Birgit is playing dulcimer. They did fiddle tunes and murder ballads...lol. It was fun. The Irish session was good too but I was wiped out after having so little activity lately.
