More Murkiness
A cool and cloudy day today, but no rain, or sun for that matter.
I’ve been feeling a bit frantic with all I’ve got on my plate - my upcoming summer class, my blog (I still need to write this week’s post), the sudden responsibility for the HOA landscape, the pinched nerve that I’m sure originates in my spine, and finally, the cat scratch that is now infected.
On Thursday poor Izzy the cat was distraught that an unknown contractor was on my deck installing a new privacy fence. I can’t help wonder if she’s missing MrWK (whom she adores) who hasn’t been around my place much lately (he’s a contractor) but that’s probably just random speculation. At any rate Izzy has a condition called Feline hyperaesthesia syndrome that causes intense nerve pain in her tail. My guess is that it’s in part caused by her fear of the coyotes that live on the golf course and often walk past my deck. Anyway, she was all wound up Thursday and when I went to bed she cuddled up quite close to me…very unusual. I was petting her as I read my book and all of a sudden she attacked my arm with both of her front paws. Undoubtedly she was telling me to stop - that I’d pushed her over the edge - but it left me with quite an array of scratches on my arm. Sadly one had become infected and I went to the immediate care place this morning and am now on antibiotics. Sigh. But this all shall pass.
A quiet night tonight, methinks. A light dinner and a movie!
I recently purchased this lovely begonia which is now in a container on my back deck (the one that the coyotes run by). It was looking rather lovely after the morning watering.
