'An Afternoon At The Evelyn'

A couple of months ago we went up to the St. Andrews Hotel to have a beer and catch some live music, we ended up seeing Ben Kelly and I took some photos of his gig there and emailed him some of the shots which he has used for PR on his website etc. He invited us along to the launch of his EP today at the Evelyn Hotel in Fitzroy.

There were three brilliant bands playing today, the first set was by 'Daisy West' with the fantastic Blin Vanheen on vocals, WOW, what a voice this girl has, we were totally blown away by her.

Second on the bill was one of our old favourite bands, 'Fats Wah Wah' with the very animated Luke Spekes out front and playing Rhythm guitar (pictured here). This band is as tight and funky as they come and always a pleasure to watch.

Last but certainly not least was Ben Kelly and his band, another awesome performance by Ben and Co. They certainly got everyone up and dancing and finished off an absolutely wonderful afternoon of some of Melbournes best kept secrets.

Thanks so much to Ben for inviting us along, thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and I'll be burning a disc of many more photos from the day.

The kids had a fun afternoon at the circus with Aunty Leng today, although apparently Bella was a bit scared of the clowns, but hey who wouldn't be with all of that makeup on.
