Will A Parasol Suffice For A Vampire?

1897: Dracula goes on sale in London
Quote Of The Day
"I sometimes think we must be all mad and that we shall awake to sanity in strait-waistcoats."
(Dr. John Seward, Dracula, Bram Stoker)
I had a lovely day out in Kyoto. I left home early to make sure that I could get a seat on the special Kyo-train Garaku which only operates at the weekend. I got a window facing seat on both the outward bound and the return journey.
I spent a pleasant couple of hours at the Kyoto International Manga Museum, revisiting some old favourites from my youth like Akira, Lone Wolf And Cub, Crying Freeman and Ghost In The Shell. Great stuff! I didn't see any vampire comics, but the wonderful phoenix from Osamu Tezuka's classic Hi No Tori saga is similarly immortal, right?
A picnic in Maruyama Park before heading home made a pleasant end to this lovely day out. No crucifix required.
