Reed Warbler
The lodge sits beside a lake - the blurb for the holiday park says it is the largest natural glacial lake in Herefordshire. We had a slow start to the morning, so I had plenty of time to try and photo the reed warbler singing in the reeds in front if the lodge.
Late morning we travelled to Mortimer Forest to give the dogs a leg stretch, and then travelled into nearby Ludlow. It’s an attractive town. Lunch at the Angel Inn al fresco and coffees in the sunshine outside the beautiful parish church, with some very good players playing the piano next to our table - there’s a piano festival going on this weekend.
The dogs attract lots of attention and lead to conversations wherever we are. And people with dogs are always chatting to each other (extra). The dogs are ecstatic late afternoon when BiL arrives after a week spent in the US.
