Buttercup Heaven

There are some great buttercup filled fields around at the moment. Spot the beagle - that white tipped tail is useful.

In an interlude in the heavy downpours in the afternoon, I had a closer look at the lake. I took photos of pond skaters, I like how they dart around supported by the surface tension of the water. What I didn’t know until I looked at the images that I had taken was that I was taking photos of two pond skaters, the smaller male hanging tightly onto the larger female.

Early evening we had a meal out to celebrate my and J’s 40th wedding anniversary. Coming out of the pub, lots of swifts and house martins wheeling around. The first martins I have seen this year.
