Planters with a difference

A friend had suggested that a better route to our doctors' surgery than the usual route would be to follow a path down through the woods. So this morning I suggested trying to find said path on our way to do some shopping. It isn't marked on the map, and though we found a very pleasant footpath along an old lane, we couldn't actually find a way down through the woods. We could see below us tracks where people obviously walk, so another time maybe we'll try to find the path from the opposite direction.

In the event, our walk took us a long way round, and we passed the surgery on our way into town, and after we'd fetched the shopping MrM treated us to lunch at Beatties. Then he persuaded me to walk home the steep way, from where, admittedly, there are some nice views. We also passed these unusual 'planters'. What an excellent use for old loos!
