Family Day

We had a lazy breakfast followed by a walk taking in the local church and cricket ground. It was looking beautiful with the fresh green foliage of June all around. When we returned my nephew was baking cakes and my niece off to a dancing class.

The roads I needed to travel to get home were busy so I delayed leaving until after lunch. It was fortunate in that it gave more time to chat with my nephew and hear about all his adventures in London the previous day. He’d visited the Natural History Museum, Regents Park and Borough Market and had a very enjoyable time. He is 13 and has so much energy and enthusiasm which is wonderful to experience.

I’m now home with Andy and Merlin having negotiated the M1 and M25. We have had a wander to the allotment to see the work Andy has done there over the weekend and to see if any strawberries are ripe (not yet, but some will be ready soon).

Hoping you’ve had a good day and wishing you a happy Monday.
