Secret beach 1

We have settled quickly into our wee cottage and have had a great first full day in Uig. 

Our main expedition was to cycle the Bhaltos peninsula. We took a break half way round to walk along Reef beach and then over the headland to the two secret beaches. The weather was so warm and sunny that we sunbathed on the first one for quite a long time. While we were there, we invented a new game called inverse band names. The idea is that you come up with the 'opposite' name of a band for the other person to guess. For example, we devised 'Manufactured play', 'Final whisper', 'Hot work' and 'The Jones'.

We returned to base when it started to cloud over. On the way, we heard a corncrake, and then one of the locals tried to chat up Mr hazelh (extra). 

Mr hazelh often ends up helping with technical problems when we are here. Today was no exception. While we had a cup of tea with our hosts back at the house, he restored sound to their television. It seems that they have been watching it with subtitles (only) for quite a few days!

Tonight's Scrabble game was another win for me. The series now stands hazelh 3 - Mr hazelh 1.

Exercise today: 11 mile bike ride; walking (8,155 steps).
