Wall flowers
On a grey May day. A thick blanket of cloud, some busts of heavy rain and always a mizzle in the air.
We packed much into the day. I ran first thing, spent an hour or so FaceTiming a friend who has been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, went to a band rehearsal, did some detailed admin on Doreen’s estate then went for a walk.
I fear I have mislead you about the ease of dealing with marestails by saying the were easy to deal with. It’s a relative term! What I meant was with no dig they, at the moment, appear to be easier to pull out. Not that I’ve got rid of them. Sorry to have raised your hopes with a magic solution.
I liked Campervan’s assertion that the roots of these plants could stretch down for 30 miles as far as he could tell. I think it’s further, they’re roots of plants growing in Australia and New Zealand poking out on the other side of the world.
