My old workplace
Back blip 1/5.
We got up bright and early to get to the airport. We actually slept past our alarm, but Millie woke me up around when we were scheduled to leave the house. Millie saved the day!
We got to our hotel and were told our room wasn't ready, even though we paid for early check-in. So I said we should explore. We wandered around downtown Denver and Capitol Hill, the neighborhood where I lived during my internship in 2006.
The photo is of the second building I worked in. The newspaper moved across the street a few months into my internship. This building was much newer and nicer. It was built for both newspapers in town. The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News had a joint operating agreement where they shared some resources but remained separate companies and editorial departments. The Rocky closed in 2009.
There's now a train from the airport to downtown. That was really nice. The 16th Street Mall was being renovated, so it wasn't as good as I had expected, but it's still a nice area.
