A coming together
I didn’t know until a few minutes ago that this is the longest aqueduct in England.
It was built in 1816 - so it’s a good job they didn’t decide on locks cos the railway engineers would have had more of a problem when it came to crossing the canal.
It’s the Edstone Aquaduct in Warwickshire.
And it’s 160 yards long… Because they used imperial units in 1816.
