Merchant's Quay

Another blisteringly sunny day -- here is the view of Merchant's Quay on the south side of Bristol Docks, as the sun starts to settle in the west. Opposite here is the good ship Thekla, with its Banksy graffiti of the grim reaper in a boat.

Andy Murray won Wimbledon today, which was brilliant to watch.

And then, when I was uploading this at the end of the day, I realised today is 7/7, eighth anniversary of the 2005 bombing attacks on London Transport. No-one seems to have mentioned it at all, nothing in the media, all obsessed with MurrayMania which I guess must be hard for some of the folk whose lives were changed that day. I wasn't affected directly, but at the time I was working in the City very close to Liverpool Street station and have clear memories of how events unfolded that morning, and how lucky I felt not to have been caught up in it, and how cruelly random it was for those who were.
