Orla and Ellie
We had lunch with Ellie's family today. Orla held Ellie's hand whilst we were queuing up to get seated. Ellie's family are from Yorkshire and her dad, Paul is 39 like me. Ellie's grandparents are also here.
I told Orla she could have a special prize if she went down the big blue spiral slide (visible in the background). Ellie goes on it all the time without any bother but Orla is scared for some reason. Well she did do it, but she sat at the top for ages and I eventually had to go up and give her a push! She was happy to have done it despite having been pushed. I thought that once she'd done it once she'd be fine. But she's adamant now she won't be going on again. Anyway, the prize she chose was some playmobile pirates. She's getting right into playmobile now.
She was playing with loads of other kids in the afternoon when Ellie went for her nap and I think was glad to be left alone to play. I had a good place next to the kids pool thanks to getting our towels down at 7:30am so I could just sit and watch.
So today was when Andy Murray won his first Wimbledon trophy. 77 years after the last Brit to do it. I was getting text updates from Anne and was able to listen to the last couple of games on my iPhone radio whilst having dinner. The last game went on forever and at his first Championship point Orla said she needed a peepee! I thought I'd miss the climax but thankfully (for me) the game had a few more twists and I was able to hear the winning rally.
I took Orla to kids' disco again which she loved. We got there early and grabbed a good spot and were joined by Ellie and her family again. We did The Rhumba once again. I'm getting used to being on stage now!
